Prime Minister Kishida’s “New form of Capitalism” aims to achieve robust growth by among others promoting diversity. In the Prime Minister’s own words “The keyword in this context is diversity. For Japanese companies to achieve innovation-driven growth, they need to become more diverse.” Gender equality is a cornerstone of the modern Nordic welfare societies. The high employment rates for both women and men are linked to the Nordic countries' commitments to subsidized childcare, parental leave, and good working conditions.
